The terms for using Snagwise, buying Full Access, sharing a home and keeping your records. They also explain the scope of our app-related website information. Your statutory consumer rights are preserved.
Last updated 21 October 2026
One purchase, one home
Full Access is a one-off purchase tied to a particular home record.
Our liability is limited
Apart from rights the law protects, the most we will pay is £50, or the price of the purchase a claim is about if that is more.
A tool for your records
Snagwise does not inspect your home or check your reports. If you use it for work, you indemnify us against claims from your clients.
01
About these terms
Snagwise is provided by SPEAK OF THE LTD, company number 12426635, at Unit A, James Carter Road, Mildenhall Industrial Estate, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England, IP28 7DE. In these terms, “we” means that company and “you” means the person using the app. Questions, complaints and claims can be sent to apps@speakofthe.com.
These terms govern your use of Snagwise and the features supplied by us, including access as a household member. You must have legal capacity to agree to them and authority to act for any organisation you represent. Snagwise is intended for adults managing property.
Please read these terms before using Snagwise. By using the app after these terms have been presented to you with an opportunity to read them, you agree to be bound by them.
If you do not agree to these terms, you must not access or use Snagwise. If you have already started using the app, you must stop using it. This requirement does not affect any cancellation, refund or other right you have under applicable law.
Snagwise is licensed to you under Apple's standard licence, and these terms add to it. The privacy policy explains how we handle data.
Apple's standard licence lets you use Snagwise on Apple-branded devices you own or control, under the App Store's Usage Rules, including through Family Sharing where those rules allow it. It does not make a per-home purchase transferable to a different home or promise that every in-app purchase is eligible for Family Sharing.
We and our licensors retain rights in the app, its code, designs, branding and supplied material. You may use its checklists and report templates as part of normal app use, including sharing the reports you create. You may not resell the app, distribute its code, bypass purchase controls or copy or reverse engineer it except where applicable law permits this.
The licence does not transfer ownership of your home records, photographs, notes or logo to us.
03
Devices, iCloud and availability
Use a compatible iPhone and iOS version, as stated in the App Store listing. iCloud sync and household sharing need a suitable signed-in Apple Account, iCloud availability and sufficient storage. Purchases and some features also need connectivity and the relevant Apple services. You are responsible for your device, account security and network or storage charges.
Local changes may not immediately appear on another device. iCloud, connectivity, device storage and third-party outages can delay sync or access. Check sync before relying on a record elsewhere, and keep independent copies of important evidence. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or indefinite compatibility with every future device or operating system.
Snagwise is a productivity and record-keeping app. We do not provide a service-level agreement, guaranteed uptime or response times, uninterrupted synchronisation, or guaranteed recovery of lost or deleted data. iCloud synchronisation is not a backup, and not a promise that records will always be available or recoverable.
Install updates to keep the app working securely. Apple's terms, and those of your mobile network and any service you share through, also apply when you use their services.
04
A record-keeping tool, not an inspection
Snagwise helps you record defects, follow a checklist, organise evidence and prepare reports. It is not a survey, a safety certificate or legal, engineering, building-control or other professional advice. A completed checklist does not establish that a property is safe, compliant or free of defects; it may not cover every issue relevant to your property.
Obtain appropriate qualified help for inspections, dangerous conditions or disputes. Do not rely on the app to respond to an emergency. You remain responsible for checking dates and requirements under your builder's contract, warranty, insurance and applicable law, and for taking action within the relevant deadlines.
Reminders, warranty dates and escalation packs are organisational aids. We do not act as your representative, contact the builder on your behalf, guarantee a repair or promise acceptance of a claim.
You decide what to record, what to report and when, and whether a repair is acceptable. Those decisions, and what follows from them, are yours.
05
What you are responsible for
Snagwise gives you the tools; how you use them is up to you. Unless our own breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill caused it, we are not responsible for loss that results from the things below. You are responsible for:
Taking reasonable steps to limit any loss once you know of a problem.
The accuracy and completeness of what you and your household enter, including addresses, dates, descriptions and photographs.
Checking each report, export and recipient before you send it.
Keeping your own copies of important evidence outside Snagwise, for example by saving photos to your library or, with Full Access, exporting the home.
Knowing and meeting the deadlines in your builder's contract, your warranty, your insurance and the law, whatever the app's reminders say.
Who you invite to a home, and keeping its invitation link private.
Your iPhone, your Apple Account and its security, your iCloud storage and your network.
Getting qualified advice where a defect, a decision or a dispute calls for it.
06
Website information and third parties
Guides, articles, checklists and other explanatory content about Snagwise and property matters on speakofthe.com provide general information. They are not tailored to your property or circumstances and do not constitute legal, financial, structural, surveying or other professional advice.
Content reflects the information available when it is published or reviewed. We aim to provide accurate information, but cannot guarantee that it covers every situation or remains current. Laws, regulations, building standards, warranty conditions and industry practices can change. Check the current requirements and original sources relevant to your situation.
Do not rely solely on our website when making decisions about a property, your legal rights, a deadline or a warranty claim. Obtain independent advice from an appropriately qualified professional, such as a surveyor, structural engineer or solicitor, where the matter calls for it.
References to developers, housebuilders, warranty providers and other organisations are included to identify them or explain a topic. Mentioning an organisation, displaying its name or linking to it does not by itself express endorsement, recommendation or criticism, or imply affiliation, sponsorship or approval. Any views we express should be read in the context of the information and date given in that content. Where we refer to publicly available sources, those sources may be incomplete or change after publication.
External links may help you find further information. The organisations operating those websites control their content, terms and availability. Check their current information directly before relying on it.
We are not responsible for loss that arises from relying on our general information, such as a decision to buy a property, to make, settle or drop a warranty claim, or to pursue a dispute with a builder. This does not apply to what we say about the app or its paid features, or to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
07
Using our website and contact form
Use speakofthe.com and its contact forms lawfully. Do not send spam or repeated unwanted submissions, use automated requests to overwhelm the website or contact service, send malicious code, impersonate another person, attempt unauthorised access, or bypass security or anti-abuse measures.
These rules do not prevent honest reviews, legitimate complaints, reporting security concerns or exercising your legal rights.
We may block abusive requests or restrict website or contact-form access where reasonably necessary to protect the service and its users. Any restriction should be proportionate to the misuse or security risk. If a security control prevents a genuine enquiry, contact apps@speakofthe.com. A website restriction does not by itself cancel an app purchase or remove your support, refund or privacy rights.
08
Free features and paid purchases
You can create home records, log snags, use the checklist, add photos and annotations, record responses and save your photos without buying Full Access. The purchase screen describes the paid features and price before you confirm payment. Apple's displayed price and currency apply to that transaction.
Full Access is a one-off purchase for one particular home record. It unlocks that home's report sending, household sharing, full exports and warranty escalation features. The owner buys it, and members of that home can use its unlocked features without buying it again. A different home needs its own purchase. This is not a subscription or an automatically renewing payment.
The separate report-logo purchase is tied to your Apple Account and can be used across your homes. It is not a Full Access purchase and does not unlock paid reporting for an otherwise free home. Reports retain a small Snagwise credit.
Apple processes payments and maintains transaction records. Purchasing authorises the transaction shown by Apple; these terms do not create a separate recurring charge.
Free features are supplied free of charge, as they are. We work to keep them running well, but make no promise that they will suit your purpose, be free of errors or always be available. Household members use Full Access through the owner's purchase; the legal rights in a paid feature belong to the person who bought it.
09
Home identity, deletion and restoration
Full Access is tied to the home's record identifier, not just its written address. The address, postcode and plot can be changed at most twice in total, and only during the 30 days after the home is created or, if later, upgraded to Full Access. Upgrading can extend the time window but does not reset the number of changes already used. Contact us if a genuine correction is needed outside those limits.
Deleting a home deletes its records and ends its Full Access entitlement. Creating a new home, even with the same address, does not transfer or restore that entitlement. Restore Purchases can reconcile a purchase with the original home if that record still exists; it does not recreate a deleted home or move its purchase elsewhere. The app warns before deletion.
Delete everything has the same effect on homes you own. Leaving a home someone else owns does not cancel that owner's purchase. The separate logo purchase can be restored through the purchasing Apple Account even after deleting homes or resetting your local profile; you may need to select the logo image again.
These product rules do not remove statutory rights concerning faulty or misdescribed digital content. If data loss results from a fault for which we are legally responsible, the liability and consumer-rights sections still apply.
10
Refunds and consumer rights
All requests to refund an App Store purchase must go through Apple. Use reportaproblem.apple.com, Apple's in-app refund option where available, or Apple Support. Apple reviews requests and processes approved refunds under its procedures and applicable law. We cannot approve or process App Store refunds ourselves or issue them through a separate payment channel.
Contact us for technical support or help identifying the affected purchase; sending us a message is not a refund request to Apple. Deleting a home does not request a refund. A refund or revocation can disable the features associated with that purchase.
This payment and refund process does not remove your statutory rights or any obligation that cannot lawfully be excluded. In the UK, digital content must meet the relevant requirements for satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and matching its description. The remedies available under applicable law remain unaffected.
Any cancellation right and any legally valid agreement to immediate supply are governed by applicable law and the purchase flow presented to you. These terms do not themselves waive a cancellation right or impose a blanket no-refunds policy.
The “owner” is the person who controls the home record in the app; the label is not proof of legal ownership of the property. The app supports that owner and up to two other household members. Members can read and edit shared records, so invite only people you trust with the information and changes they can make.
An invitation link gives access to anyone who obtains it while a place is available. Keep it private. Removing a member does not reset the link: someone who still has it can rejoin while a place is available. There is currently no separate link-reset or stop-sharing control.
The owner can remove members or delete the shared home, ending everyone's access as devices sync. A member can leave, but their existing contributions may remain in the home. Access removal cannot recall exports or copies already made. Agree with your household who will keep records and make decisions before sharing important evidence.
Household members act for themselves, not for us. We are not responsible for what another member adds, changes or deletes, or for what they do with the home's information, including copies they make or send.
12
Your content and other people's information
You retain your rights in the material you add. You authorise the storage, processing and sharing needed to provide the features you choose, including making your contributions available to the household and recipients you select. This is not a transfer of ownership or a licence to use your content in advertising.
Only enter or share information, photos and logos you are entitled to use. Respect other people's privacy and intellectual-property rights. When acting professionally or for someone else, arrange the authority, lawful basis and privacy information required for that activity.
Do not use the app for unlawful activity, harassment, knowingly false evidence, infringing content or attempts to disrupt the service, compromise accounts or bypass access restrictions.
We have no administrator access to browse, read or retrieve the home records in your private iCloud database. The app accesses them on your device on behalf of your signed-in Apple Account. Shared records are accessible through the sharing permissions you grant. Information you send to support, or that appears in diagnostic reports, is separate from access to that private database.
13
Reports, evidence and delivery
Reports are your documents. What they say is said by you and your household, not by us. We owe no duty of care to anyone who receives or relies on a report, such as a builder, warranty provider, insurer, solicitor, buyer or, if you use Snagwise for work, your client. Do not present a report as made, checked or endorsed by us; the “Made with Snagwise” credit names the tool, not an author.
We do not independently inspect your property or verify the factual accuracy of information, photographs or statements entered by you or another household member. Input checks and report generation do not amount to professional verification or our approval of the contents.
Check reports for accuracy, completeness, dates, personal information and the correct recipients before sending. Photos may be resized or reformatted, and reports reflect your records and choices at the time they are generated. Keep original files separately where their original quality or metadata matters.
Reports are created on your device and sent through your own Mail account or another destination you choose. A sent status records the mail action or your confirmation; it is not proof of delivery, receipt or acceptance by a builder, insurer or other recipient. Confirm important communications through an appropriate channel.
Deleting records from Snagwise does not recall reports, exports or photos already saved or sent. Calendar events created through the system editor are separate: later edits or deletions in Snagwise do not change them.
14
Support, updates and changes
For support, email apps@speakofthe.com or use our app contact form. Include the app version and a description of the issue, without unnecessary personal information. We provide the maintenance and support required by law or otherwise promised for the app; we do not promise a particular response time unless separately agreed.
We may update the app or these terms for security, legal compliance, compatibility or reasonable product improvements. We will explain material changes and give reasonable advance notice where practicable. Urgent security or legal changes may need to take effect sooner.
A one-off purchase pays for the features described when you buy, not for every future feature or for updates without end. Changes will not take away rights you already have; if a change materially reduces a paid feature, we will give the notice and remedies the law requires.
We may stop offering or updating Snagwise. If we do, we will give at least 30 days' notice in the app or on this website where we can. The app already on your iPhone will keep working with your records in iCloud for as long as Apple's services and iOS allow, but without further updates or support, so export anything you want to keep.
15
Stopping use and serious breaches
You can stop using Snagwise at any time. Before deleting the app, consider exporting records and, if you want them removed from iCloud, deleting your homes or leaving shared homes through the app. Uninstalling alone is not a request to erase all copies held by Apple, recipients or service providers.
We may end the licence or restrict services we control for a serious breach of these terms, as far as technically possible and lawful. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and give a reasonable opportunity to put it right. Immediate action may be necessary for serious unlawful activity or a security risk.
Ending use does not remove accrued legal rights, valid refund claims or obligations intended to continue. It does not give us a general right to access or erase the contents of your private iCloud account.
16
What we are and are not responsible for
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude or limit. If you are a consumer and paid for Full Access or the report logo, the law requires that digital content to be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and gives you remedies if it is not, including a repair, a replacement or some or all of your money back. Nothing in these terms affects those rights; Citizens Advice can explain them.
If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. Loss is foreseeable if it was obvious it would happen, or if both of us knew it might happen when you started using Snagwise or made the purchase concerned. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable.
Snagwise is supplied for domestic and private use: keeping the records of your own home. We are not responsible for loss of income, earnings or profit, time taken off work, or loss of business, contracts or opportunity, however it arises.
Using Snagwise in connection with a loss does not make us responsible for it. Unless our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill caused it, we are not responsible for:
Data loss, including records or photos kept nowhere but Snagwise.
Missed deadlines, whatever the app's reminders and warranty dates say.
A builder or developer refusing or delaying work, a warranty provider, insurer, ombudsman or court rejecting or reducing a claim, or the outcome of any repair.
Decisions that you or anyone else make on the strength of a report, a checklist or a reminder.
Information that you or a household member entered wrongly, or a report sent without being checked.
What household members, report recipients or other people do with information you give them.
Failures of your device, network or storage, or of Apple's services or any other service we do not control.
17
The most we will pay
Apart from the liabilities in the first paragraph of the previous section, which are not limited, our total liability to you for all claims connected with Snagwise, taken together and however they arise, whether in contract, negligence or otherwise, is limited to the greater of £50 and the price you paid for the purchases the claims are about.
Only the purchases a claim is about count towards the limit. A purchase that works as described does not add to it: if you bought Full Access for 100 homes and a fault affects one of them, the limit is £50, not what you paid for all 100. A claim about free features is limited to £50. The limit uses the amount originally paid, before any refund.
This is a limit, not an amount we owe: you would first need to show that we are legally responsible for your loss. The limit applies to all claims together, not to each claim separately. It applies to work use too, as described below. It does not reduce a consumer's statutory rights in a faulty paid feature, including a refund of its price.
18
Claims caused by how you use Snagwise
If someone brings a claim against us because you used Snagwise in breach of these terms, you are responsible for the losses and reasonable costs, including legal costs, that we incur as a result of your breach. Examples are adding photographs, a logo or someone's personal information you had no right to use, or sending a report containing statements you knew to be false.
We will tell you promptly about any such claim and give you the chance to help respond to it. If you use Snagwise for work, the fuller indemnity in “Using Snagwise for work” applies instead.
19
Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control. These include outages, faults or changes in Apple's services, such as iCloud, CloudKit, the App Store, StoreKit, Mail and iOS itself; failures of networks, power or devices; cyber attacks we could not reasonably prevent; and changes in the law.
If such an event affects Snagwise, we will let you know where we can and take reasonable steps to limit its effect.
20
Using Snagwise for work
Snagwise has no separate business plan or subscription. Full Access and the optional report-logo feature are the one-off purchases described above. This section concerns how you use the app, not a different product or level of service.
This section applies when you use Snagwise mainly for your trade, business, craft or profession, for example as a snagging inspector preparing reports for clients, rather than as a consumer. An individual acting wholly or mainly outside those purposes is a consumer. Adding a logo to a report does not by itself decide which you are.
For work use, Snagwise is supplied as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude all terms, conditions and warranties implied by statute, common law or otherwise, including those about quality, fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy.
We are not liable to you for loss of profits, revenue, income or earnings; loss of sales, contracts, customers, anticipated savings, business opportunities or goodwill; loss or corruption of data; wasted expenditure; business interruption; or any indirect or consequential loss. This applies whether the claim is in contract, negligence or otherwise, and whether or not the loss was foreseeable.
Your work is your own. You are responsible for your inspections, your professional judgement, the reports and advice you give your clients, and for holding the insurance your work needs, such as professional indemnity insurance. Your clients are not party to these terms and we owe them no duty of care.
The limit in “The most we will pay” applies to work use. We set it in light of Snagwise's low one-off price and the insurance available to you for your work.
You will indemnify us against all claims, demands, losses, damages, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from a claim brought against us by your client or any other third party in connection with your work use of Snagwise, a report you produced or sent with it, content you added, or your breach of these terms.
If you use Snagwise for work, you must bring any claim against us within 12 months of the date you became aware, or ought reasonably to have become aware, of the facts giving rise to it.
If you use Snagwise for work, these terms and Apple's standard licence are the whole agreement between us about Snagwise. You have not relied on any statement, promise or description that is not set out in them, and you will have no claim for innocent or negligent misrepresentation based on one. This does not limit liability for fraud.
Nothing in this section limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
21
Apple's licence
Snagwise is licensed to you under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add to it. Where the two conflict, these terms apply, except for Apple's own rights under that agreement.
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Snagwise, its content, or its maintenance and support; we are, as these terms describe. The Apple Media Services terms and the App Store's Usage Rules also apply.
Apple's licence makes Apple and its subsidiaries third-party beneficiaries of that licence, able to enforce it against you.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory protections of the country where you habitually live. Consumers may bring proceedings in the courts available to them under applicable law, including their home courts where the law provides. Nothing requires a consumer in Scotland or Northern Ireland to give up applicable local rights or court access.
Please contact apps@speakofthe.com if something is wrong so we can try to resolve it. This does not prevent you from exercising legal rights or bringing a claim within the relevant time limit. These terms do not impose compulsory arbitration or waive collective rights where protected by law.
If a provision cannot lawfully be enforced, the remaining terms continue to the extent possible. A delay in enforcing a right does not waive it. These terms do not give anyone else a right to enforce them, unless the law requires otherwise.
